Olive Cutter Compression fittings are used in domestic plumbing for fitting radiators, valves and other plumbing fixtures. Inside the fitting, around the copper tube, sits a compression olive, ring or ferrule with tapered sides that forms the seal. When a compression fitting needs to be removed, so too does the olive. The olive cutter was created to avoid costly damage to pipes. Today, it is available in two forms, the more common plier-type and the screw-type, which is useful where access is limited. Maun 5649-100 Olive Cutter Screw Type Tool 15 mm The Olive Cutter Screw Type Tool 15 mm is Maun’s top-selling screw-type olive cutter, designed for cutting 15 mm copper or brass olives from copper pipes.

  • NO MORE PIPE DAMAGE - Precision-set, high-quality steel cutting blades cut olives accurately without damaging pipes or creating a swarf. Beats a hacksaw or olive puller every time.
  • WORK EASIER IN CONFINED SPACE - Compact tool with screw action allows you to work easily where space and access are limited.
  • BUILT TO LAST - Made in England, this tool has high-quality steel cutting edges hardened and tempered to HRC 45. Chemically blackened parts and zinc-plated cover plates for durability.
  • MUST HAVE FOR PLUMBERS - A tool specifically engineered for removing compression fittings in tight spaces.

The tool comprises two precision-set steel cutting edges that are driven by a screw mechanism. The pipe is threaded through the hole in the tool and the olive centered. The T-bar is screwed progressively closed to force the blades up, cutting the olive free from the pipe. The key features of this tool are its compact design, high-quality steel cutting edges, and precise screw-turn action. The design is a deliberate effort to create a tool that works where there is insufficient space to use a plier-type cutter - so no need to resort to a hacksaw or olive puller. The cutting edges are fashioned from high-quality steel, hardened, and tempered to HRC 45 for durability. The T-bar is fitted with rubber end stops for comfort and control. The tool is 100 mm long How To Use Unscrew the compression fitting from the pipe, exposing the olive. Position the tool over the centre of the olive. Screw the T-bar firmly closed until you hear the olive “pop”. Unscrew the T-bar and reposition the tool away from the pipe. Remove the split olive, leaving the pipe unmarked.
