Maun WAD Punch Kit

A wad punch is a punch designed for cutting precise circular holes in soft materials. It is also known as a hollow punch. Maun’s wad punches are sold either separately or, for better value, as a complete set. Punches are available in both metric and Imperial sizes. The kit comprises a 150 mm long centre handle and nine interchangeable punches, all packed securely in a lightweight polypropylene storage box. The punches are in metric sizes: 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12.5 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm and 32 mm. In addition to cutting holes and discs, this set is perfect for making washers, gaskets or seals that require two cuts. The punches can be easily screwed onto the centre handle, so switching between punch sizes is fast. The handle has a spring-loaded plunger that can be used for centring the two cuts precisely.

How To Use

Follow these simple steps and you cannot go wrong! Use a wooden block as an anvil. Screw the punch onto the handle. If making a washer, gasket or seal, cut the outer diameter first. Centre the hole to be cut on the spring-loaded plunger, marking the material beforehand. Strike the handle firmly with a mallet or hammer. The spring-loaded plunger will eject the cut material. If making a washer, gasket or seal, now select and fit the smaller punch to cut the inner diameter. To centre the two cuts, place the spring-loaded plunger on the mark on the cut disc.
