A ball chain plier is made for creating a durable connection between two ends of a metal ball chain. Typically, the chain is cut to a length double the vertical drop of the blind. The two ends are joined to create an endless loop. The purpose of the ball chain connector is to make this join both secure and invisible.
- NO MORE BROKEN BALL CHAINS - Parallel jaw movement and precise components guarantee a flawless join every time for No. 10 4.5 mm metal ball chains.
- ALL IN ONE CHAIN REPAIR TOOL - Integrated high-leverage cutter, and precision pin and concave dies mounted on parallel-moving jaws.
- BUILT TO LAST - Made in England, this tool has blackened steel jaws, case hardened to HRC 57. Pressed steel handles have a rust-proof finish and soft plastic grips for added comfort.
- FOR WINDOW BLIND MANUFACTURERS / INSTALLERS - A tool specifically engineered to solve problems encountered by the window blind industry.
Maun 5060-160-C Ball Chain Plier No. 10 4.5 mm This tool has everything you need to install or repair a No. 10 4.5 mm ball chain. There is an integrated cutter that allows the ball chain to be cut effortlessly to the correct length. On the tip of one jaw is a slot into which the end balls are successively inserted. As the jaws are closed, the precision-machined pin opposite pierces each ball - one completely for removal of the ball to expose the link pin, the other part. Finally, the partially opened ball can be reshaped accurately around the link pin by holding it between the two cupped dies and lowering it into the pin. As the plier’s parallel jaws are squeezed closed, they create a secure, invisible joint. Behold, an endless ball chain!
How To Use
Using the integrated cutter, cut the chain to the desired length, normally twice the length of the blind drop. Place the ball at one end of the chain into the slot at the tip of the jaw. Squeeze the jaws fully closed to pierce and remove the ball, exposing the link pin. Place the ball at the other end of the chain into the slot at the tip of the jaw. Squeeze the jaws gently this time to pierce and open the ball just sufficiently for it to accept the link pin. With the plier turned horizontal, hold the open ball between the concave dies with the newly made hole upwards. Lower the link pin into the open ball and squeeze the pliers firmly to reshape the ball around the pin.
